  1. Grab the nearest book.
  2. Open the book to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
  5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

This is simply the offset of the "field" (or data member) within the class.

Ankle Update

Ankle Update Earlier in the afternoon, we went to our regular doctor for a follow up on Vik's ankle fracture. The bad news. She is going to have to wear the boot 24/7 from now on, for the next 6 to 8 weeks. The prognosis is good, expected full recovery in about 3 months. There was no point taking another set of x-rays, the injury is too fresh. I was in leg cast for about 4 months a few years back; I can tell you it's no fun. Thanks to everyone who emailed her.

1. Open up the music player on your computer.

2. Set it to play your entire music collection.

3. Hit the "shuffle" command.

4. Tell us the title of the next ten songs that show up (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing. That's right, no skipping that Carpenters tune that will totally destroy your hip credibility. It's time for total musical honesty. Write it up in your blog or journal and link back to at least a couple of the other sites where you saw this.

5. If you get the same artist twice, you may skip the second (or third, or etc.) occurances. You don't have to, but since randomness could mean you end up with a list of ten song with five artists, you can if you'd like.

Here's my list:

  1. Iron Maiden - New Frontier
  2. Garth Brooks - Right Now
  3. The Minibosses - DD Stronghold
  4. Scorpions - Deep And Dark
  5. Outkast - The Way You Move
  6. Pink - Don't Let Me Get Me
  7. Jessica Simpson - Irresistible
  8. Kurt Nilsen - Weddings Off
  9. Michael Schenker Group - Samurai
  10. Accept - Balls To The Wall

Broken Ankle

Broken Ankle Vik broke her ankle going down the stairs this afternoon. We got back from the doctor not too long ago. The good news is that their is no bone misplacement. No cast required. She has to stay off her ankle for at least 3 days, and wear a special "boot" afterwards. As Russ elegantly put it a few minutes ago, I get to play valet for the next few days. Service with a smile. We aim to please. Well wishers, feel free to email her directly. I'm sure she'll appreciate the support. — Thanks.

We bought a couple CDs yesterday, even though we had already been sampling them for a week or so. The RIAA can kiss my derrière.

Soon to be mega hits:
