I'll be spending the next three weeks in Lake Havasu, Arizona. I flew in late last night.

Windows Live Mobile Beta

Available for Windows Mobile and J2ME.

There's also a beta version of Windows Live Messenger for mobile browsers.

Yahoo! Music Mobile

You can now access some of the Yahoo! Music features on your mobile:

Yahoo! Mobile Music

You can't listen to music, yet.

You can search and add music to your library. The added songs will be fetched the next time you login to your Yahoo! Music Unlimited account from a PC.

You can also send links to Yahoo! Music Mobile pages via SMS.

I don't know if the service is limited to Cingular right now, but I wasn't able to login unless accessing via MEdia Net.

It's beta, and it shows. A lot of consistent UI glitches on various phones. More importantly, I seriously doubt the whole catalog is searchable yet. I wasn't able to find a lot of the songs/albums which are available via the Yahoo! Music Jukebox.

Overall, it shows potential. Definitely a service to keep an eye on.

Erik's Weblog: Mobile

I've created a mobile version of Erik's Weblog to complement the mobile version of the Linkblog.

Nothing too fancy. I borrowed a bit from the Live Spaces mobile layout.

All of my mobile stuff is always accessible directly from:

Happy mobile reading!

One Hell of a Commute!

We ate at P.F. Chang's in Bellevue yesterday afternoon to celebrate Vicki's niece Birthday. The drive down was uneventful. 20 minutes or so. Same as usual. I-405 had obviously been entirely cleared of snow earlier in the day.

One the way back home, around 8:30pm, we were greeted with a traffic warning sign indicating long delay on I-405. The car's navigation system also pointed at major slow downs/delays on I-5, so we decided to stay the course.

How bad could it be?… Well… We didn't get home until 2:30am. 6 long hours.

As we slowly crawled closer to the bottleneck, we saw dozens of cars stranded on the side of the road. It looks like someone decided to close the freeway in order to tow cars and let the snow plows/sanders do their thing.

It easily qualifies as the longest traffic jam either of us has ever been in.

WiFi a gogo...
