We were kinda surprised with the dismissal of Dark Angel, although it was definitely predictable as the show' sophomore season wasn't really up to par.

Adam wrote a very interesting article on the U.S. press blatant mislabeling of Pim Fortuyn. Unfortunately, I can't really say that I am surprised.

Today's journalism is all about shock-value, not about fair and accurate reporting. If it bleeds, it reads. I get really frustrated each time I hear/read words like "alleged", "reported" or even "rumored". Today's allegation will undoubtedly be treated as a fact tomorrow. It is almost impossible to shield yourself from the continuous flow of misinformation. We all fall for it at one point or another.

I'm all for freedom, as long as it is not abused. With freedom comes responsibilities. People's lives are routinely shattered because of the news media so-called editorialization. Someone needs to be held accountable. Freedom of the press should not be viewed as a carte blanche to say or print anything.
