meI tried to upgrade one of our Mac to Panther. What a disaster.

Just like Matt, the installer failed leaving me with a dead machine.

A clean install failed too. I even tried removing all third-party RAM and peripherals, as suggested by MacFixIt. No cigar.

Looking at the various support boards, I'm not the only one with these kind of problems.

To make the matter even worse, it looks like one of my 10.2 disk is hosed.

meI've re-installed XP on my workstation over the weekend. I can't believe how much faster everything is.

I've opted for the bare-minimum and will only install apps only as I actually need them.

I gambled and decided to keep just a very few settings, re-installing every app from scratch. It's funny how things just work that way.

I have to admit that junction is making everything a lot easier. All of my important data is now located on my secondary drive.
