A clean install failed too. I even tried removing all third-party RAM and peripherals, as suggested by MacFixIt. No cigar.

meI've re-installed XP on my workstation over the weekend. I can't believe how much faster everything is.

I've opted for the bare-minimum and will only install apps only as I actually need them.

I gambled and decided to keep just a very few settings, re-installing every app from scratch. It's funny how things just work that way.

I have to admit that junction is making everything a lot easier. All of my important data is now located on my secondary drive.
