We stopped at Wal-Mart earlier today to buy some ding dongs, HoHos, etc… It also gave me a chance to have a look at their new Recycled/Recyclable Shopping Bags.

Wal-Mart is not known for its quality, but these are really good. We picked up 4 of them, at $1 a pop. They are very light, yet very sturdy. They don't look very big, but actually hold a lot.

We did our weekly grocery shopping at Safeway later on. We were able to fit $126 worth of groceries in 3 bags, and picked up a cool 3¢ discount per bags too.

According to the label each bag is:

• Made from 85% recycled materials
• Made from approximately 4 plastic soda bottles
• Can replace 50 plastic shopping bags
• Can carry the same weight as 2-3 plastic shopping bags
