macInteresting note from the Sharp PDA Developer Newsletter:

Mac OSX driver for Z - Get involved

Although Sharp does not officially support Mac OSX syncing with the Zaurus, we have been working closely with Apple on getting the USB driver for OSX developed. We are making some good headway and a few developers have been involved with this project. The driver will be added to Apple's Darwin Project (Darwin is Apple's Open Source project). It is very different from the GPL, and you can get more info at http://developer.apple.com/darwin/ps-faq.html

If you'd like to get involved with this effort, separate mailing lists have been created:

zaurus-osx-networking, for networking related issues, primarialy development of USB drivers for OSX, but also for development of a Rendezvous client for the Z

zaurus-osx-sync for the development of a SyncML client for the Z and integration of components into a working system.

For more information please go to http://www.hgsc.bcm.tmc.edu/~kdurbin/maczaurus.html or to join the lists please email [email protected]

macJava 1.4.1 Developer Preview 2 for OS X. Better very late, than never.

[Update]

When they say this build is not suitable for general Java 1.4.1 use or development, they truly mean it. To switch back to JDK 1.3.1 use:

sudo /usr/local/bin/jsettestjdk 1.3.1
