meI have this 3+ years old PC sitting under my desk. I've been using it mostly as a test machine running Win 2K. Since we moved all of our servers to Linux, I figured it was time to change OS.

The problem is that I can't get it to recognize a NIC card under Red Hat. I do recall having to fiddle around the PCI slots when I originally set it up, but I didn't realize it would be such a problem.

5 NIC cards and many wasted hours later, I've decided to give up.

I originally bought it at Costco, and I'm going to get a chance to see if their “satisfaction guaranteed, no-hassle” return policy is more than a myth. I don't feel good about returning it after such a long time, but if I can, I will.

Incidentally, since I have no use for the extra memory, this server just received a welcomed 128MB memory boost.
