OBJECTIVE

After more than 15 years in the United States, Erik is in the slow process of relocating his family to Barcelona, Spain.

SUMMARY
|
Erik has close to 20 years of professional experience in hardware and software development. Erik's commercial application experience began in 1984 with Apple Computer, Inc. where he served as the Open Translation, Research & Development manager focusing on Apple's international localization efforts.
Erik has designed and engineered custom and commercial software solutions for numerous companies such as Group Health Cooperative, Hewlett-Packard, JPL, Johnson Matthey Electronics, KinderCare Learning Centers, Lockheed, Microsoft, The Sharper Image and Pacific Bell. Over the years, Erik has gained extensive knowledge in software development for Windows, Macintosh, Palm, PocketPC, various UNIX platforms, and of course, the Internet.
Erik is also responsible for the development success of the popular web data middleware, Lasso. At Blue World Communications, Inc., Erik held the position of Director of Technology where he was responsible for the entire product life cycle. Erik is uniquely experienced in the development of cross platform database-driven commercial web applications.
At Imacination Software, Erik spent the better part of a year creating and developing the jTalk E-Business Platform. An enterprise-level, yet intuitive, tool used for building dynamic and interactive web applications, such as the Imacination E-Commerce Portal.
In addition of maintaining one of the web's first and most popular technology-oriented linkblogs, Erik is currently lending technical leadership to various privately owned companies.
Erik is also the author of a weekly syndicated column, known as Erik's Pulse.

Erik holds a Ph. D. in Computer Science from the Joint Doctoral Program of the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley.
