HDTV Died

Our living room HDTV died this morning. No lights, no power. I have no idea what's wrong with it, nor do I care at this point. I've already had it replaced once, but it is no longer under warranty.

We had to take an emergency trip to Costco to buy a new one.

I had to enlist the help of a neighbor (Thanks, Paul!) to help carry and set it up upstairs.

I've put the old one on Craig's List, maybe someone is interested in trying to fix it.

How Gullible Are We?

A student at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment.

Why am I not surprised?

ATM Reprogramming

Police in Derry, Pennsylvania are baffled by a June ATM robbery in which an unidentified man wearing flip flops and shorts strolled into Mastrorocco's Market and reprogrammed the cash machine to think it was dispensing dollar bills instead of twenties.

This is very much in line with the burglars who used Google to crack a safe.
